OLVI-säätiö on yleishyödyllinen säätiö. Sen perustivat vuonna 1955 Olvin pitkäaikainen toimitusjohtaja ja pääomistaja teollisuusneuvos E.W. Åberg puolisonsa rouva Hedvig Åbergin kanssa. Säätiön peruspääomaksi E.W. Åberg luovutti enemmistön omistuksessaan olleesta Olvin osakekannasta. Perustajien ajatuksena oli, paitsi turvata yhtiön jatkuvuus, myös mahdollistaa sellaisten pyrintöjen tukeminen, jotka he kokivat tärkeiksi ja arvokkaiksi.

Sääntöjensä mukaan säätiö avustaa lasten ja vanhusten hyväksi tapahtuvaa toimintaa, vähävaraisten nuorten opintoja, kotiseututyötä ja edistää kala- ja maatalouden kehittämistä.   

Vuosittain säätiö jakaa useita satoja tuhansia euroja apurahoina, stipendeinä, avustuksina ja palkintoina.

OLVI-säätiön suhde Olvi-yhtiöön

Olvi Oyj on julkinen osakeyhtiö, jonka A-sarjan osakkeet ovat pörssissä julkisen kaupankäynnin kohteina. OLVI-säätiön omistuksessa on noin 15 prosenttia yhtiön osakekannasta, mutta perustajien ajatuksen mukaisesti säätiö omistaa edelleen enemmistön (noin 52 prosenttia) yhtiön äänivallasta. Säätiö ei kuitenkaan puutu eikä ole koskaan puuttunut yhtiön operatiiviseen toimintaan. Yhtiön maksamat osingot mahdollistavat osaltaan säätiön tarkoituksen toteuttamista.

Olvi Foundation

The Olvi foundation is a non-profit foundation. It was founded in 1955 by Olvi’s long-term Managing Director and principal shareholder, industrial counsellor, E.W. Åberg, with his wife, Mrs. Hedvig Åberg. E.W. Åberg assigned a majority of Olvi’s share capital in his possession as basic capital for the foundation. Besides securing the future of the Company, the idea of the founders was to enable support for endeavours, which they considered important and valuable.

According to its regulations, the foundation assists activities for the youth and the elderly, studies of young people of limited means, local community work and promotes the development of fishing industry and agriculture.

Each year the foundation gives out several thousands of euros as awards, scholarships, grants and prizes.  

The relationship between the Olvi Foundation and the Olvi Corporation  

Olvi Plc is a public company, whose series A shares are publicly traded on the stock exchange. Approximately 15 % of the share capital of the Company is in the possession of the Olvi foundation, but according to the idea of the founders, the foundation still holds a majority (approximately 52 %) of the Company’s voting rights. However, the foundation does not get involved, and never has, with the Company’s operative action. The dividend paid by the Company in its part enables implementation of the purpose of the foundation.
